Ekwendeni Hammers started their second and final round of Northern Region Simso league campain at a high note after thumping Chintheche FC 5-1 at Chibavi primary school ground on Sunday, 8th September, 2019.
It was a crucial match as both teams are in for the title race but the league’s current top goal scorer, Josephy Mbewe had no mercy on the visitors. He terrorized Chintheche defence right from the first whistle and it was not by surprise that he scored three goals, his first hatrick in the second round of the league.
He said,” am happy that i have assisted my team to collect three vital points against a team that defeated us during the first round at their backyard”.
His coach, Obvious Banda did not hide his excitiment for the wonderful job by his players, who were organised in all the departments.
“The results are a true reflection of what we planned. These guys(Chintheche) are actually difficult to contain especially their Frontline, so i told my players to disturb them with at least two early goals, that is what we exactly did”, said the coach.
Ekwendeni Hammers take their next game on Sunday, 15/09/2019 against Kabwafu FC at Chibavi primary school ground.
