Fiskani Mhango is a teacher by profession and is currently doing his bachelor’s degree in education at Domasi College of education.
The young Mhango is also an enterprenuer, he thought that no matter how rewarding the full-time job could be, but finding or establishing a side business and eventually becoming fully self-employed is even more meaningful and beneficial.
“I perfectly manage time despite my every day busy schedule. The business am doing of rearing broiler chickens is indeed inspiring many and it’s something that some people especially the youth should always emulate,” he said.
Fiskani is encouraging people to be visionary focused if they are to do better in life. Life is all about ups and downs but these should not let everybody down, he concluded.

MUSIC, A WEAPON FOR YOUTH SOCIAL INTERACTION.

According to Dr. Alexandra Lamont (2005), music is all around us. Technology in most industrialised societies now provides people with easy access to a vast amount of recorded music.

The music show that was organized for the youth in Chibavi by Zex entertainment on Saturday 14th September, 2019 was aimed at keeping them busy and as last treatment for most of the school going youngsters as they return to school on Monday, 16/09/2019.

One of the organizers, Isaac Harvey Mwanyongo said ” people now can listen to their favourite music at home, in the car, personal mobile stereos and even computers but we thought of bringing them together through this music youth show so that they can enjoy together and share ideas and skills”.

The show was patronized by youth not only from Chibavi but also surrounding areas. Different upcoming artists performed during the show at Chibavi primary School ground.

JOSEPHY MBEWE REGISTERS HIS SECOND ROUND HATRICK.

Ekwendeni Hammers started their second and final round of Northern Region Simso league campain at a high note after thumping Chintheche FC 5-1 at Chibavi primary school ground on Sunday, 8th September, 2019.

It was a crucial match as both teams are in for the title race but the league’s current top goal scorer, Josephy Mbewe had no mercy on the visitors. He terrorized Chintheche defence right from the first whistle and it was not by surprise that he scored three goals, his first hatrick in the second round of the league.

He said,” am happy that i have assisted my team to collect three vital points against a team that defeated us during the first round at their backyard”.

His coach, Obvious Banda did not hide his excitiment for the wonderful job by his players, who were organised in all the departments.

“The results are a true reflection of what we planned. These guys(Chintheche) are actually difficult to contain especially their Frontline, so i told my players to disturb them with at least two early goals, that is what we exactly did”, said the coach.

MZUZU-LILONGWE TAXI OPERATORS CREATES NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS.

Taxi operators communiting between Mzuzu and Lilongwe have created news business opportunities for traders who travel between the two cities.

Speaking in an interview, one regular traveller Agness Nathundu said the introduction of the Mzuzu- Liliongwe route by taxi owners provides them with comfortable, fast and reliable transport than big buses.

“These guys(taxi) are very flexible because they even sometimes wait for us whenever we request them. Not only that, we do negotiate on the transport fair which is not the case with buses. We dont bother these days with buses, we just go to our usual place, Chikoma building and they sometimes pick us from our respective homes”, she explained.

One of the taxi drivers James Mwale concurred with the customer on the need to assist them with an easy transport where they can do their shopping without transport worries.

“They (customers) prefer fast transportation and they avoid the Mzuzu-Mzimba-Lilongwe route and so many stoppages on the way by big buses unlike us”, he lamented.

PROPHETIC SOUNDS AND LAUNDRY OPENS DOORS IN CHIBAVI.

Many entrepreneurs , who open a laundrette, have little or no prior formal training in the laundry business. While formal experience may be necessary but Prophetic Sound and Laundry owner, Elick Luhanga shares a different story.
The Musician, cum-businessman recalls that the dream for business dates back to his old music days. He said in 2015, he joined ECG Church of Prophet Shepherd Bushili and travelled to South Africa where he worked as sound engineer for the Prophetic channel.
“It was not an easy thing to adapt and work in South Africa, especially for the big Ministry of Prophet Bushili”, he recalls.
After a successful three years of working for the Church in South Africa, Elick decided to return home and established his Prophetic Sound & Laundry business in Mzuzu, Chibavi area.
“I looked at existing gap in the laundry business industry, hence the decision to open one in Chibavi to bring the service close to the people. The laundry business is about people. It is a service business, and like any service business, you need to treat your customers well if you want to be successful”, he said.

The Prophetic Sound & Laundry also incorporates selling, repairing and hiring music equipment for various events.
Elick Luhanga comes from Mwathanantha village, T/A Katumbi in Rumphi District and is married to Thokozire Mtika with whom they have two children. He encourages youths and business oriented people to be visionary focused in order to succeed in life.

MBAHEWE U17 FC IS LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED.

The football fraternity were on 28th August, 2019 baptized with a new episode of footballing by Mbahewe U17 Fc at Chibavi primary school ground during their game against Young Destroyers U17 Fc.

The tight contest between the two teams saw Mbahewe entertaining the spectators with their classic display and beating Young Destroyers 4-1 in the process. And despite their aim of collecting three points but Mbahewe declared an embarrassing war on their opponents. They dominated the match from the first whistle up to the end, having a Lion’s share of the game.

Coach and owner for Mbahewe Fc Chisomo Kamulanje has since sent a stern warning to other teams not to underrate his charges.

” We have assembled a young, dedicated and talented squad this year and will not allow teams to collect points on us on a silver platter,” he said.

Coach for Young Destroyers U17 Fc Sedson Phiri refused to comment on their humiliation.

“What else do you think i can say now? Let’s meet in our next game and i will grant you an interview but now”, said the 34 year old Coach.

BULU UNITED THRASHES CITY STARS IN FAM CUP TOURNMENT

Bulu United U17 FC maintained their 100% unbeaten run on Thursday, 27th August, 2019 when they mercilessly thrashed City Stars U17 FC 5-1 at Chibavi Primary School ground.

The horses took their lead in the early minutes of the first half through their talisman Maxwell Chipeta.

In a post-match interview, Coach for City Stars Reuben Njaliwa was quick to accept defeat, which he attributed it to lack of finishing experience to his strikers.

“We created chances but were not able to convert them throughout the game”, he said.

Coach for Bulu United U17 FC Harrison Bulu was happy with the result which has taken them to position 3 on the log table.

“It was a tough game but i told my players the importance of collecting three points so that we maintain our unbeaten run in the competition and fight for the top spot,” he explained.

The FAM Cup tournament which started on 14th August, 2019 has fifteen participating teams.
